All Pure Löyly saunas are made using western red cedar inside and out. Exterior and interior walls/roof use knotty cedar, benches and duck board is made using clear.
Unlike many saunas out there where interior is cedar, but the exterior is painted panel.
Why this matters.
We do not paint our saunas because paint on cedar not only ruins the beauty of cedar, but defeats the purpose of cedar being used on exteriors with its excellent resilience against environmental changes. Cedars should be stained to enhance the natural grains of the wood. The knots and grains of cedar are brightened using an oil base, high quality stain.
Details Matter
The corners of a Pure Löyly sauna are a testiment to the fine details we go through to ensure a tight fitting install. Custom made corner pieces are designed to connect the adjoining walls, ensuring the inner walls fit tightly together protecting from the elements.
Our corners are also designed to create a beautiful, seamless look that continues the natural pattern on the cedar knot.

Double-Wall Insulation
Insulation is at the heart of the Pure Löyly sauna. Using 2 types of insulation, thermal foil and R14 fiberglass in every wall and roof panel. The Pure Löyly achieves the fastest heat times in the most frigid of climates with maximum efficiency.

Continuing our obsession with efficiency, the flat roof design is the ideal shape of roof to achieve the most efficient air flow in the sauna, removing highs and lows of the ceiling the traps and restricts air flow.
It all starts with a solid foundation
The Base
A Pure Löyly sauna is built onto a double stacked pressure treated foundation. Sitting on a runner system that allows water to safely flow under the entire sauna, keeping the sauna off the ground, preventing wood rot and algae growth.

By standardizing our pre-built panels, we are able to create a configurable sauna design that allows you to move panels around and lay out the sauna the way you want. Standard panels allows for tighter tolerances, higher degree of customization, and easier to install. Option to upgrade, modify and dissemblance if you are needing to move.
