What is Löyly?

"Löyly" is a Finnish term that loosely represents the steam coming off the rocks when adding water to your heater.  This is the basic fundamentals of a sauna.  Humidity is crucial to maximizing the affect of heat on the body and producing a higher level of humidity which increases perspiration and the sauna bathing experience. 

However, as per the Finnish culture, it has a deeper meaning.  Löyly is more of an experience, and can be thought of as a spiritual achievement, where your body is bathed by the heat and a total body experience of relaxation is achieved. 

Regardless of the meaning to someone, it is important part of the sauna experience and the reason why this is the core of our company.
